Deborah Mathew is an associate attorney at Naima Said & Associates, P.C. She counsels and represents clients in a variety of areas within immigration law, including affirmative and defensive asylum applications, family-based petitions, provisional unlawful presence waivers, removal of conditions, naturalization, custody and guardianship petitions related to obtaining Special Immigrant Juvenile status, U-Visa petitions, and removal defense.
Deborah is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland. While in law school, Deborah participated in the Immigration Law Clinic as a student-attorney and successfully represented a client in overturning an Immigration Judge’s decision denying their application for asylum.
Born and raised in the Middle East and being of Indian origin, Deborah has encountered the immigration process firsthand. She understands and appreciates the sacrifice that families make when they emigrate from their home countries in search of better opportunities for themselves and loved ones.
Deborah joined the firm as an intern while still in law school and has become an important member of our team. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Maryland State Bar Association, where she serves on the 2016-2017 Section Council for the Immigration Law Section. She has organized and participated in a number of community outreach programs targeting underserved or underrepresented communities.
Driven by her unique background, her experiences, and her passion for uniting families together, Attorney Mathew has dedicated her legal career to identifying immigration solutions for individuals and families to help them achieve the American dream.
